Last Call?

Not much commentary needed, here.

And, just for grins...

Et tu, Apple?

Come on in, the water's fine.

  1. Hi Pebble. Thanks for your support man. I've noticed that I'm not alone... you and a few other guys are having a real hard time over at Daneric's. I have no clue how to set up a blog but I'm very familiar with Seeking Alpha and how to set up an insta there. In fact I'm in the process. At one time at Seeking Alpha I was in the top 20 commenters, out of a million registered users... so SA knows me well and support me pretty well. Except not in the "publishing of articles" department because in their own words, my stuff "is too technical", lol.

I have no doubt that the issue at Danerik's was initiated by somebody trolling and flagging comments. This issue occurred about 3 weeks ago too, and contrary to what our good friend doc says, it was indeed my comments that were attacked first in both cases. That doesn't really matter... what matters is that the evidence is pretty clear that it's human interference that started it. I think it's now resolved to not much more than a few IP addresses now being erroneously identified as being spam sites. It's possible that anybody who was flagged just a single time is now having issues.

In any event, keep up your great work here and I'll keep working on an alternative for myself. At some point though I might ask you for some guidance in setting up my own blog although I'm loathe to do that. Let's see how the Seeking Alpha thing works out first.

    Take care bud.

  2. Hey, AR. Good to hear from you!

I've done some posting at SA. But, as you say, they hate technical analysis. And, anything that's submitted as a "premium post" gets the nth degree editorial review. My last effort took 3 drafts and 4 days.

Also, every comment is moderated, meaning it isn't even close to real time. You can maintain an instablog, but if you're going to do that you might as well set up your own blogspot and just double post once in a while.

Blogspot took me all of 15 minutes to set up, and I'm no tech guru. Once it's up and running, it's really simple. I haven't had any serious troll problems...yet. In general, a good crowd currently averaging around 1500 views/day. Will be glad to help if that's the direction you want to go.

  3. I assume Blogspot is aka Blogger... 'this' site?

If so, I don't like the format where a person can't respond to another in a thread format. It doesn't identify whether I'm responding to a comment by yourself or if I were to respond to a comment by someone else. If I'm not mistaken, each and every comment is treated as if it is a 'new comment'?

On the other hand, I'd certainly be interested in knowing whether or not there are people out there who would drop into my own blog... if I had one. I don't know if I'd ever be able to develop a following audience of any size or not. Not that I care... I have no interest in fame, nor blogging to be honest, but rather just an interest in exchanging ideas with others. And the reason for that is because I'm selfish and want their inputs, lol.

Anyway, I'm not lost out in the ether somewhere... there are ways around this horseshit at Disqus. Oops, can I say that word here? After all, Disqus is now a swear word in my books.

  4. I have always been more a fan of WordPress

    http://www.wordpress.com

My 7 year old set a blog up in 10 minutes. So if you have something to say it's a breeze.

  5. AR, you're right about the thread stuff. If there's a way to do it, I haven't found it yet. Maybe that's where Disqus comes in??? It is a pain in the ass to have to call out respondee's by name, but I have so few commenters relative to readers (sadly), it hasn't been an issue yet. Will have to check out Wordpress. I just chose Blogger because it was the platform Dan used.

BTW, who torched you over at Dan's place? Start with a C, by any chance?

  6. That thread issue is one other reason I like SA. Their troll gun is the first.

There are a few suspects who I think might have been flagging my comments, not many, but yes one of them starts with 'C'.

  7. I meant D.C. There was one day I noticed a "spirited" back and forth between you two on political stuff. I started to get into it with him, then realized there's no reasoning with zealots like that.

  8. I don't recall any back and forth between him and myself? Are you sure it was him and me? He seems OK to me, much, much more political than I am though. In any case, negative on that one... I'd never suspected him.

  9. So now you've got me curious, who your "c" is...

  10. AAPL strikes me as, more or less, making some kind of "oh holy crap I haven't done my 5th wave up at ____ degree yet and there isn't much of this corrective move left" move.

  11. Mitch: I think you're right on AAPL. Believe it or not, I didn't redraw that rising wedge one bit.

Best indicator I've heard... my daughter's 7th grade algebra teacher touted AAPL to her students today.
